彼女は勇敢そうに見えますが、実際にはとても愛らしい犬です。
Let's start with the first two sentences.
最初の二つの文から始めましょう。
I have five dogs, three cats, and one rooster.
私は犬を5匹、猫を3匹、オスを1羽飼っています。
I love animals very much, but I am going to describe only one of them.
私は動物をとても愛していますが、その中で一匹だけ説明しようと思います。
These two sentences are almost perfect.
この二つの文はほぼ完璧です。
Maria uses number adjectives to describe how many pets she has.
マリアは自分が飼っているペットの数を表すために数詞の形容詞を使っています。
Maria has nine pets total.
マリアは合計9匹のペットを飼っています。
She then says that she will only choose one.
その後、彼女はたった一匹だけを選ぶと言います。
We suggest adding my before animals, because Maria then refers to her animals as them in the second half of the sentence.
マリアが文の後半で「それら」として自分のペットに言及しているため、「my」を追加することを提案します。
The choice my is a more specific choice.
「my」という選択はより具体的な表現です。
We also suggest adding a comma before but to separate the two clauses.
また、二つの節を分けるために「but」の前にカンマを追加することを提案します。
I love my animals very much, but I am going to describe only one of them.
私は私の動物をとても愛していますが、その中で一匹だけ説明しようと思います。
Let's move on to the next two sentences.
次の二つの文に進みましょう。
My female dog called Seforina.
私のメスの犬の名前はセフォリーナです。
She is a senior big dog.
彼女は老いた大型犬です。
In the first sentence, Maria describes the gender of the dog.
最初の文で、マリアは犬の性別を説明しています。
We recommend adding "is" before "called."
「called」の前に「is」を追加することを推奨します。
This is a passive sentence, so we must use a form of "be" plus the verb in the past participle form.
これは受動態の文なので、「be」動詞の形と過去分詞形の動詞を使用する必要があります。
My female dog is called Seforina.
私のメスの犬の名前はセフォリーナです。
The next sentence has two adjectives, senior and big.
次の文には二つの形容詞、senior(老いた)とbig(大きい)があります。
This is where we should pay attention to the order of adjectives.
ここで形容詞の順序に注意を払う必要があります。
When we use two or more adjectives from different categories, we must order them a certain way in the sentence.
異なるカテゴリの形容詞を二つ以上使う場合、文の中で特定の順序に従う必要があります。
The order of adjective categories is as follows: quantity, opinion, size, age, shape or length, color, origin, material, and purpose.
形容詞のカテゴリの順序は以下の通りです:数量、意見、大きさ、年齢、形状または長さ、色、起源、素材、目的。
We recommend changing the order of the adjectives senior and big, based on the order of adjectives rule.
形容詞の順序規則に基づき、seniorとbigの順序を変更することを推奨します。
Size adjectives come before age adjectives.
大きさの形容詞は年齢の形容詞の前に来ます。
She is a big senior dog.
彼女は大きな老いた犬です。
Note that we do not need a comma between the adjectives because these are cumulative adjectives.
これらの形容詞は累積的であるため、形容詞間にカンマは必要ないことに注意してください。
In other words, they build on each other.
つまり、それらは互いに積み重なって意味を形成します。
They are from different adjective categories, so they cannot be separated by a comma.
それらは異なる形容詞の分類に属しているため、コンマで区切ることはできません。
Let's look at the next few sentences.
次のいくつかの文を見てみましょう。
I meet her at the street.
私は彼女を街で会いました。
She was very ill and sad.
彼女は非常に病気で悲しかったです。
Now is a cute dog.
今はかわいい犬です。
First, instead of meet, you can use the verb find, to say that you first discovered or saw your dog.
まず、meet の代わりに find という動詞を使って、最初に犬を発見したり見たりしたことを言うことができます。
You should use the past tense of find, because you are talking about a time in the past.
過去について話しているので、find の過去形を使うべきです。
Next, we suggest changing the preposition "at" to either the preposition "in" or "on."
次に、前置詞「at」を「in」または「on」に変更することを提案します。
" In the street" means that you found her in the middle of the street.
「In the street」とは、通りの中で彼女を見つけたという意味です。
" In" is used for talking about an enclosed space.
「In」は囲まれた空間について話す際に使われます。
" On the street" means that you found her somewhere along the street.
「On the street」とは、通りのどこかで彼女を見つけたという意味です。
" On" is used for general location.
「On」は一般的な場所を表す際に使われます。
Maria did a great job separating the adjectives "ill" and "sad" with the conjunction "and."
マリアは、「ill」と「sad」という形容詞を接続詞「and」で適切に分離する素晴らしい仕事をしました。
These are opinion adjectives and carry equal importance in the sentence.
これらは意見を表す形容詞であり、文の中で同等の重要性を持ちます。
This makes them coordinating adjectives, so we can use "and" or only a comma to separate them.
これにより並列形容詞となるため、「and」または単なるコンマでそれらを区切ることができます。
We can also change their order and keep the same meaning.
順序を変えても同じ意味を保つこともできます。
In the next sentence, we need a subject.
次の文では主語が必要です。
We can use the pronoun she.
代名詞 she を使うことができます。
We also suggest adding a comma after now.
また、now の後にコンマを追加することを提案します。
I found her on the street.
私は彼女を街で見つけました。
She was very ill and sad.
彼女は非常に病気で悲しかったです。
Now she is a cute dog.
今は彼女はかわいい犬です。
And finally, we have the last three sentences.
そして最後に、最後の三つの文があります。
Her colors is black and her eyes brown.
彼女の毛色は黒く、目は茶色です。
She is a friendly dog.
彼女は友好的な犬です。
She looks like brave, but she is lovely dog.
彼女は勇敢そうに見えますが、彼女は素敵な犬です。
In the first sentence, we have some subject verb agreement issues.
最初の文には、主語と動詞の一致に関する問題がいくつかあります。
Since Maria's dog is black, color can be singular.
マリアの犬は黒いので、色は単数形で構いません。
We need the verb are in the second half of that sentence to go after eyes.
その文の後半では、動詞 are を eyes の後に置く必要があります。
Her color is black, and her eyes are brown.
彼女の毛色は黒く、目は茶色です。
Finally, in the last sentence, we suggest a different word for brave.
最後に、最後の文では brave に対して別の単語を提案します。
We want another word that is the opposite of lovely.
lovely の反対の意味を持つ別の単語を求めています。
We could say that Cefarina looks fierce, which is like brave and intense combined.
セフェリーナは勇敢で激しいという印象を与える、fierce と表現することもできます。
We can also remove like because we are not making a comparison, just a contrast.
比較ではなく対比を示しているので、like を削除することもできます。
And finally, we need to add the indefinite article a before dog.
そして最後に、dog の前に不定冠詞 a を追加する必要があります。
She looks fierce, but she is a lovely dog.
彼女は勇敢そうに見えますが、彼女は素敵な犬です。
Today we looked at Maria's message about her dog, Seferina.
今日はマリアから彼女の犬、セフェリーナについてのメッセージを見ました。
We talked about the order of adjectives, commas, and subject-verb agreement.
形容詞の順序、コンマ、および主語と動詞の一致について話し合いました。
We learned about coordinating and cumulative adjectives, and their connection to the order of adjectives.
並列形容詞と累積形容詞、およびそれらが形容詞の順序とどのように関連しているかを学びました。
Thank you, Maria, for telling us about Seferina.
セフェリーナについて教えてくれてありがとう、マリアさん。
We are happy she found such a loving home.
彼女がそんな愛に満ちた家庭を見つけたことを私たちは嬉しく思います。
I'm Faith Perlo, and I'm Anna Matteo.
私はフェース・ペルロで、アンナ・マテオです。
